2024 Tea Encounter Taozizhai: Pure Peachy!

I was really excited to try this 2024 Tea Encounter Taozizhai goes for $269.38 for 200g cake or $1.35/g!  I have tried “peach” puerh that were named like this in the past, some where blends that try to recreate this single area effect, maybe even from around this area, I can’t exactly remember but never so fresh is this… and let be honest these are at least to mainly enjoy fresh…. They are so delicious… I’m greatful to try this complimentary sample for review…

Dry leaves smell of very sweet creamy tropical notes.

Rinsed leaves have a roasted grains vegital note with edges of sweet sugar.

First infusion has a watery pure clear onset with sweet peachy melon sugar notes in a clear still profile.  Sugar sweet return with soft mild mouthfeel. Clear pure watery ethereal delicious!

Second infusion has a watery clear peach fruity oily clear pure taste.  There is a mild pasty mouthfeel. Nice mouth salivating.  Long sweet clear sugar peach taste!  Drink now!  Soft pasty mouthfeel goes perfect with the fruity sweet peachy sugar taste.

Third infusion is left to cool and is very sweet pure peachy fruit.  Very very sweet and fruity peachy apricot taste.

Fourth infusion sweet sugary creamy with some fruity taste but not as intensely fruity as the first three infusions.  Softy oily mildly pasty mouthfeel.  Peaceful happy feeling.  Long creamy sweet peachy taste and salivating.

Fifth infusion had a sweet pop of apricot peachy with a creamy custard sweet sugar finish.  Oh how sweet it is very pure and clean with more of a creamy sweet building with oily mouthfeel so forest taste is minding building in the background.  Peaceful feeling Qi mild bodyfeeling.

Sixth infusion is left to cool and is a sweet clear peachy sugar creamy sweetness.  Strong sweet returning with saliva and slight oily texture but also faintly tight mouthfeel hiding underneath. Peaceful feelings

Seventh infusion has less sweetness and almost balanced with a bland taste and a forest taste.  Still sweet sugar and fruit oily with salivating. Still very clear profile.  Peaceful happy feel with a mild comfortable bodyfeeling.

Eighth infusion has a watery sweet profile with mouthwatering oily feeling and mild sweet returning taste.  There is a mild tight driness now underneath the oily texture.  Comfortable feeling.

Ninth infusion is left to cool and is sweet sort of fruity with creamy sweetness.  There is a bit more fruity pops.  Comfortable peaceful Qi in the body and mind.

The long mug infusion is a bit bitter and vegital with mild sweetness lingering.  Mainly a sweet sugar around bitter vegital edges.  Mouthwatering still long lingering sweet under bitter.  There was almost no bitter in the session this is just at the end here.

Overnight infusion of spent leaves… is a very thick oily sweet faint peachy strong sugar sweetness there is some mild vegital bitter in the aftertaste with a sticky gums and slight dry tongue feeling.

This one is all anout the clear undisturbed sweet peach taste which is insanely good strong and lasts more than a few infusions too! Drink now! It doesn’t really get better than this if you like em fresh!

Peace

Drink fresh? How did we get so far from what puer always has been...old?

Aren't these some kind of green tea?

Just a thought.

Peter,

Hahaha I knew someone was going to call me out on it…. It’s just that this one would be way too hard for any puerh lover to store! I mused about what a dry stored cake like this would taste like in 20 years…..

I have never tried anything like this aged out…

Peace
