Oh boy…. It’s been crazy busy in my life this winter…. I always say “ a good busy”…. As far as evaluating teas… Mainly I worked on sampling the complete Yang Qing Hao catalogue but didn’t finish it but have lots of posts to come on that! It seems things have slowed down for a bit here so if that pace continues… expect these posts to drop to come fast…
Dry leaves have a sweet layering of honey and fresh fruits with a deep sweet pungency.
Rinsed leaves have a pungent piercing sweetness with a tropical orange sweetness sometimes a fruity banana and fresh fruits odour. Smells familiar like Lincang even Bing Dao I have tried before even a familiar dry storage odour…
First infusion has a nutty a bit salty tropical fruity bananas in a wet slippery feeling mouth with a background of spice. Eyes and forehead expanding unique bodyfeeling. Chest expanding. Tropical fruits left in the aftertaste.
Tonnes of mouthwatering and juicy viscus saliva producing. Spacy feel good. Metallic salivating even a salty taste.
Second infusion has a smooth fruity taste over a slippery mouthfeel. Big chest swelling and tropical fruity but mainly an orange aftertaste with background spice and pungency. Dense taste with a bitterness lingering in the background. Lots of in-mouth taste and feeling less in-throat.
Third infusion is left to cool and comes off tropical fruity sweet with a dense almost quick bitterness. Spacy mind. Slippery a nice chest beats with an uplifting mood feeling.
Fourth infusion has a melon smooth tropical fruity dense taste hard to reach not real bitterness. Full oily viscus mouthfeel. Space out Qi. Uplifting mood.
Fifth infusion has a bitter sour fruit onset. There is an oily feeling in the mouth with a low evolving bitter sour orange taste. Spacy qi feeling with open chest. Uplifting but lore spaced out focus. Shoulders a bit heavy and mind slowing a bit now.
Sixth infusion has a sour fruity taste. Wet almost bitterness in the mouth that fades away hard to grasp. Spacy mind chest mild feeling with heavy shoulder.
Seventh infusion has a bitter sour fruitiness. Spacy mind. Some chesty beats.
Eighth sour sweet tropical fruity onset in an oily broth. Mouthfeel but not much in the throat. Spaced out mind with done nice heart beats. Fruity sour almost bitter finish.
9th is left to cool and is still sour sweet fruity. Chalky wet mouthfeel. Spaced out feeling.
10th has a sweet tropical fruity oily slippery full oily taste spaced out relaxing too.
11th is is an overnight mug steeping of spent leaves… it has an orange sweet citrus blossoms juicy sweet taste. Viscus juicy orange. Spacy feeling. Has the taste and feel of something Western Xishuangbanna … or maybe Lincang… yummy and Spacy.
I sampled this one blind but it turns out it is a Lincang, Da Xue Shan! This 2020 Meng Shan Geng Kan goes for $86.20 for 357g cake or $0.24/g
Peace
