It was sad and bizarre to see how dominant coffee is there.Nick Hermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01543497413262895759noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1693176331381554957.post-58655929653337120882013-03-02T09:13:33.384-08:002013-03-02T09:13:33.384-08:00As promised: http://gongfuchaadikt.blogspot.com/20...As promised: http://gongfuchaadikt.blogspot.com/2013/03/2011-ghorka-estate-af-cask-aged-black.htmlJjhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07145508775223522271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1693176331381554957.post-90492941103557432532013-02-28T22:40:41.367-08:002013-02-28T22:40:41.367-08:00Jess,

Greg actually addressed a similar question at the tea festival. He pointed out that in the Korean powdered tea ceremony it is common for the person making the tea to drink the first bowl of Matcha. Then after imbibing the tea they offer bowls of matcha to the guests. Greg stated that this is done as a matter of respect for the guests as the tea maker can adjust his technique and perimeters to make an even better bowl of tea for the guests. Conversely, one had once heard from a Korean tea master that it is a sign of respect for the guests to let the person preparing the tea lead in taking the sips from the cup in the loose leaf tea ceremony and in preparing and drinking the first bowl of matcha.

Mostly the powdered tea ceremonies of Korea are done with just one performer and usually they involve some kind of mediation. This is so because the powdered tea ceremony is more tied to Korea's Buddhist roots than say the Korean (loose leaf) green tea ceremonies which are primarily influenced by Confucian elements.

PeaceMatthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02736984697520031171noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1693176331381554957.post-10842206016759832542013-02-14T16:15:04.330-08:002013-02-14T16:15:04.330-08:00I would really love to get to the Victoria festiva...I would really love to get to the Victoria festival some day! If you ever make it down to the NW Tea Fest in October, let me know. There are several of us here that read your blog.

I'm studying Chanoyou and I notice here that he gets to drink his bowl of tea. (We make and serve tea, but seldom drink a bowl in the process.) Is that typical in the Korean ceremony? I like it. :-)Stephhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05753205572837649406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1693176331381554957.post-85648874668500463812013-02-13T10:45:16.374-08:002013-02-13T10:45:16.374-08:00Thanks again! Thanks again!吉道 Giuseppehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05451938938458412188noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1693176331381554957.post-7715711875837311662013-02-13T10:22:55.853-08:002013-02-13T10:22:55.853-08:00Joseph,
