Mouthfeeling alone cannot deliver those hour to minutes later lingering aftertastes that make wild tea so special.

However there is a certain modest roundness and balance to this Qianjiazhai that makes it quite charming.

I guess if these both have the same level of cleanness and energy/vibrancy then we are left to compare these things.

PeaceMatthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02736984697520031171noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1693176331381554957.post-69556139027067800442017-11-08T09:17:05.223-08:002017-11-08T09:17:05.223-08:00I slightly prefer the 2009 DXS, but it's a clo...I slightly prefer the 2009 DXS, but it's a close match. My opinion is that the 2008 Qianjiazhai has a better body and mouthfeel, more obvious wild flavors too. I tend to prefer the lighter DXS mainly because I think it gives deeper throat sensations, which is my number one criteria. I'd also say that the DXS seems younger than the Qianjiazhai too, I mean I would have bet on more than one year difference.

Anyway, both are incredibly clean and full of energy. I would humbly recommand the Qianjiazhai to drinkers who focus on mouthfeel, and the Da Xue Shan to amateurs such as myself of deep throat sensations. But for the price, I'd say that both are very good bargains considering their age and how clean they are.

Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06365378347454497408noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1693176331381554957.post-7320013465843555312017-11-03T15:10:33.641-07:002017-11-03T15:10:33.641-07:00David,

I especially like the throat/ mouthfeel for a yesheng. It is a bit weaker on stamina and complexity but makes up for it in the above.

Da Xue Shan is another famous wild tea mountain. I've tried wild tea from here in the past. Unfortunately, this tea was listed after my shipment went out else I might have thrown one in.

What is your assessment of the 2009 Da Xue Shan wild? How does it compare to this 2008 Qianjiazhai?

Thanks as always for your guidance and commentary David!

PeaceMatthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02736984697520031171noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1693176331381554957.post-61050545546443937372017-11-03T03:11:27.101-07:002017-11-03T03:11:27.101-07:00Nice review of a lovely tea, very clean and full o...Nice review of a lovely tea, very clean and full of energy. Have you tried the 2009 Da Xue Shan wild, or is the cake too tiny for you perhaps? ^^ It is also very interesting, maybe even more than the Qianjiazhai.

Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06365378347454497408noreply@blogger.com
